The Procyon Power Belt offers users 150 Watt-hours of 5V to 24V programmable power from a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack. Procyon is the name of a binary star located in the constellation Canis Minor and is the eighth brightest star in the nighttime sky.

The onboard control box acts as both charger and output regulator, and allows the unit to be charged from the supplied external power source. An 'intelligent' LED displays a variety of charge states, allowing the user to know at a glance how much power is available. Power is supplied by a pair of E-One Moli Energy ME202CJ rechargeable Li-ion batteries, each rated at 7100mAh capacity and 78.8Wh of power.

For a typical pen tablet computer that uses an average of 20W of power the user can expect to see around 7.5 additional hours of run time from the Procyon. Coupled with the internal battery life of the tablet up to 9 hours of continuous run time is available, more than enough for a full shift.

In general the largest consumer of power in a mobile product such as a tablet computer is the screen backlight. Adjusting the brightness to the minimum comfortable level can extend the run time of the tablet and Procyon up to 20%.

The Procyon comes with everything you need to start powering your handheld or pen tablet computer. The included wall adapter will charge the Procyon in approximately 6 hours.

When using the Procyon, it is best to start the day with both the Procyon and your tablet computer fully charged. The tablet can charge off of the Procyon if needed, but this is not as efficient as starting with both units fully charged. At the end of the day charge both the Procyon and your tablet computer so they are ready for the next day's work.
